What the extension stores

Only your display preferences:

• Theme choice (Light, Dark or Device default)
• Darkness level
• Whether the header toggle is shown, and whether brand colours are preserved

These are saved with Chrome's storage.sync API. If you have Chrome Sync turned on, Chrome syncs them across your own devices through your Google account. The developer never receives them. A copy of the same preferences is also kept in the Search Console page's local storage under the key gscdm:v1, so dark mode applies before the page draws and you don't see a white flash.

What the extension does not do

• It does not read, collect or transmit your Search Console data, properties, queries, URLs or account details.
• It makes no network requests of any kind.
• It has no analytics, telemetry, tracking, cookies or advertising.
• It runs no remote code. All code ships inside the extension package.
• It runs only on search.google.com/search-console pages and has no access to any other site.

How it works

The extension adds a stylesheet to Search Console pages that inverts the page colours, then restores images and solid brand colours, such as the metric tiles, to their originals. To find those coloured elements it checks their computed background colour inside your browser. Nothing it sees leaves the page.

Sharing and sale of data

No data is collected, so none is sold, shared or transferred to anyone, and none is used for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension deletes its saved preferences from Chrome. To clear the local copy as well, clear site data for search.google.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. A change that adds any form of data collection would be announced in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing before it ships.
